The Lithuanian language and its close northern relative Latvian are known for being exceptionally antique. The oldest Indo-European languages still spoken today, they are remarkably similar in grammatical form to Sanskrit. With seven noun cases, five declension patterns there is absolutely no similarity to anything you have come across before, as well as the necessity to pronounce the stress of a word in the right place in order to be understood.
